To protect and sustain the rural, agricultural character and history of the town as outlined in the current master plan. Be a public voice for the town of Sandwich agricultural community. To encourage and advocate for educational programs, initiatives, policies, and practices that are related to the enhancement of the rural, agricultural, historical, and future impact of such within the town of Sandwich. To advise individuals, town boards and commissions on issues related to agriculture and land use policy. To facilitate, where possible, clarification and unification of conflicting policies and practices that effect the rural and agricultural character within the Town of Sandwich.
Headquartered in Center Sandwich, the volunteer Sandwich Fire Department provides primary fire and emergency medical services to the citizens of Sandwich.

The Historic District Commission reviews proposed changes to structures and landscapes within the Historic Districts, provides the Planning & Zoning Commission with comments on applications and promotes the concept of preserving historic structures and landscapes in the Town.
The Samuel H. Wentworth Library is a Public library system that serves all of Sandwich. The Director of the library is Glynis Miner. The library, which is housed in a beautiful historic stone building, contains many publications of both local and non-local origins and interests and provides our area with rich histories, and cultural resources.
Sandwich Parks and Recreation has a long standing tradition of serving the citizens of Sandwich and providing activities for all ages. With youth sports, musical events, beaches, and several parks to be enjoyed Sandwich offers quite a lot for a small New England town.

The restoration of the Sandwich Stagecoach continues with dedicated volunteers offering their time and resources to preserve this wonderful and elegant stagecoach.
The Board of Selectmen is the executive branch of Sandwich's government and is responsible for the daily operations and functions of the Town. They superintend the concerns of the town, adjust and settle all claims against it.
The Board of Selectmen meet each Monday night at 5:00 P.M. at the Sandwich Town Hall.
The Town of Sandwich operates a secure, safe and environmentally friendly Transfer facility for the residents of Sandwich to properly dispose or recycle common household items and non-hazardous waste.
The Town of Sandwich, Zoning Board of Appeals is a volunteer membership of local residents. It is tasked with ensuring the hearings of zoning appeals, variances and special use permits. This impartial group’s purpose is to hear appeals for changes in the Town Zoning Ordinance where strict conformity would result in unnecessary hardship.
