With taxpayer funding and in accordance with RSA 165:1, the Town of Sandwich provides assistance to community members who are in need of financial help for heat, housing, or utilities.

Once an assistance application is submitted (see here), a meeting will get scheduled with both Catherine Graham, Welfare Administrator, and Todd Horn, Welfare Officer.  Needs will be determined and counseling on other available resources will be provided.

Payments are made to vendors only and not to the individual applying.  Please note:  if heating and/or electrical assistance is required, you must notify the provider the Town will be assisting you, and give them permission to speak to Catherine Graham on your account.  DO NOT wait until your power has been disconnected, or your heating fuel is on empty, to notify us of assistance needed.  There are large penalties associated with these circumstances that should not be passed along to our taxpayers.

The Town processes checks every Monday.  If assistance is required, please notify Catherine Graham by Sunday evening so she can notify the Town Administrator in a timely manner.
