Fire permits are required for all outside burning. 

For seasonal fire permits (campfires or cooking fires / Category I or II fires), permits must be obtained through the Forest Fire Warden or the Fire Department.

Category III:  a fire, other than Category I or II, which is greater than four (4) feet in diameter or a fire not contained within a ring of resistant material.  A category III fire may only be kindled with a permit between the hours of 5:00 PM and 9:00 AM unless is actually raining.  These permits may be issued for up to seven (7) days.

A category III permit may be obtained from the Selectmen's Office during regular business hours.  

What cannot be burned:  residential trash, treated wood or material greater than 5" in diameter.

NO FIRES SHALL BE LEFT UNATTENDED AT ANY TIME WITHOUT BEING COMPLETELY EXTINGUISHED.  A BURIED FIRE IS NOT CONSIDERED EXTINGUISHED.
